Regional Groups

It is very important for our members, to have information about local services and the support of colleagues so UKABIF has established a network of regional groups around the UK. The groups are self-governing, thanks to the hard work of small groups of individuals in each area who manage meetings and organise networking and educational events. Click on the links to find out how to join your local group and to see events which are taking place in your area.

The South West group covers a very wide area extending from Gloucestershire to Cornwall including Wiltshire and Dorset. There are two groups in this area – one covers Bristol and Bath and is Chaired by Stuart Brazington of Royds Withy King, the other covers Devon and Cornwall and is Chaired by Jackie Burt of Westcountry Case Management who is also Chair of the Brain Injury Social Work Group.

East Midlands Acquired Brain Injury Forum (EMABIF

EMABIF is a forum of representatives of services for people with Acquired Brain Injury in the East Midlands which seeks to raise public and professional awareness of acquired brain injury, and to improve standards of care currently on offer to clients/patients/residents within the East Midlands. The Forum provides an opportunity to:
  • Develop awareness and understanding of current brain injury services.
  • Proactively promote education and training for those concerned with Acquired Brain Injury.
  • Be a forum for discussion, consultation and collaboration between the community, the health service, social services, voluntary organisations and the private sector on the development and commissioning of services in the field of ABI.
