wrote on the Regional Groups: South Wales ABI Forum wall: Join the South Wales Acquired Brain Injury Forum for an online session with Consultant Psychiatrist Dr Peter Marshall on Wednesday 8th July, 1pm - 2.30pm During this 90-minute event, Dr Marshall will deliver two talks exploring the use of psychotropic medication and pituitary gland function following acquired brain injury. Indications for Psychotropic Medication Dr Marshall will discuss the circumstances in which psychotropic medication may be considered, including its potential role in supporting people experiencing neuropsychiatric symptoms following acquired brain injury. Pituitary Gland Function Following Acquired Brain Injury This talk will explore the potential effects of acquired brain injury on pituitary gland function and consider the importance of recognising and investigating possible hormonal changes. About the Speaker Dr Peter Marshall MBChB, MSc, MRCPsych is a Consultant Psychiatrist with 26 years of experience working across mental health services. He trained as a general adult psychiatrist in Manchester before initially working in the NHS as a Consultant Psychiatrist. He has worked across general acute, rehabilitation, low-secure, psychiatric intensive care and community services in both the NHS and independent sector. Dr Marshall has a special interest in neuropsychiatry, particularly traumatic brain injury, organic personality disorder and Huntington’s disease.
