NABLES ABI Passport

The NABLES Team are delighted to share a new resource, The ABI Passport. The passport was designed by our young experts by experience, who hope it will empower other young people to share information about their ABI with their school.

The passport emphasises the young person's voice, and is a way to help teachers understand more about their ABI, and the impact this has on them - particularly in terms of the hidden needs that are common after an ABI. The passport also gives the young person the chance to emphasise how their teachers and peers can best help (and outline what doesn't help!), as well as highlighting their strengths, interests and aspirations.

The YEBEABI (Young Experts by Experience in ABI) Group hope this is a resource that young people can 'own'; something they can co-write with their teacher/SENCo/parents, edit when they want to, and share as they wish, to help others better understand them and their ABI.

On the links below, you will find an example document, which the YEBEABI group have edited themselves to show what a completed passport might look like (based on their own experiences in school). You will also find an editable pdf and a Powerpoint version below for you to download and use!
