The United Kingdom Acquired Brain Injury Forum (UKABIF) is pleased to confirm that Case Management Cymru (CMC) has renewed its funding for the Amser am Newid / Time for Change Wales programme for a third consecutive year. This generous support enables UKABIF to retain Dr Eleanor Bryant as the dedicated Project Officer for Wales; a role that continues to be vital in progressing the aims of the programme.
Since its inception, Time for Change Wales has worked to implement the recommendations of the 2021 Time for Change report, which outlined priority actions to improve services and outcomes for people affected by acquired brain injury (ABI) across Wales. With the support of Case Management Cymru, the programme has moved from policy into practice, bridging the gap between strategy and delivery.
Dr Bryant’s involvement has brought a new level of consistency and momentum to the work. From supporting local ABI forums to developing bilingual training resources for schools, her leadership has enabled progress that would not have been possible through a volunteer-only model.

Julie Smith, Director of Case Management Cymru, committee member of the South Wales Acquired Brain Injury Forum and active participant in the Time for Change subgroup, highlighted the impact of the role:
“Eleanor’s time and expertise has enabled the recommendations identified in the 2021 TFC report to progress beyond what the solely voluntary committee could have hoped to achieve. We now have evidence-based data regarding the gaps in ABI training
for teachers, and have developed bilingual training resources specifically for Wales. Our next aim is to map the unmet needs across Wales in relation to community support and rehabilitation, while capturing and sharing the incredible work
that is happening in pockets around the country.”
The continuation of this post ensures that Time for Change Wales can maintain its strategic direction while remaining grounded in the lived experiences and practical needs of individuals, families, and professionals across Wales.
UKABIF extends its sincere thanks - diolcho o galon - to Case Management Cymru for their continued commitment to improving life after brain injury in Wales.
Chloe Hayward, Executive Director of UKABIF said: “We are incredibly grateful to Case Management Cymru for their continued support of this vital role. We have very exciting plans for the year ahead and with this support we can ensure we hope to make a tangible difference to the lives of people with brain injury in Wales. This kind of collaboration between the clinical and voluntary sectors is exactly what’s needed to drive long-term change.”
