A petition looking to 'ensure appropriate provision of services and support for people with an Acquired Brain Injury in Wales' has been discussed further by the Welsh Senedd.

Chaired by Jack Sargeant MS, the Petitions Committee discussed the petition submitted by Dr Claire Williams in April.

The petition, which received support from people across all parts of the UK, said: "There is an urgent need to review the provision of services and support for people with Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) in Wales. There are currently no inpatient rehabilitation services for people with ABI in North Wales and there are just four inpatient beds for children and young people in Wales. Services need to be adequate and 'fit for purpose'. The time for change is now."

Committee Member, Joel James MS, spoke at the meeting noting the petitioner had made additional comments which would be sent to the Minister for Health and Social Care for a further response and there would be continued dialogue going forward.

This was agreed by the Petitions Committee. You can review the session here.
