Education Group Publish Specialist Blog

05 March 2020   (0 Comments)

The National ABI Education and Learning Syndicate (N-ABLES) is a group of clinicians, academics, voluntary sectors organisations and education professionals who work together to promote awareness and understanding of acquired brain injury (ABI) within education.

On 2nd March 2020, N-ABLES published an article called 'Acquired brain injury: A Guide for Schools' on the Special Educational Needs and Disability gateway. This is a resource for special education needs coordinators, (SENCOs), teachers and teaching assistants, which provides access to news, training, events, resources and information. The article will also be featured in the National Association of Special Educational Need's Community of Practice e-news.

Dr Emily Bennett, co-author of the article said, "We are really pleased to publish this article on the SEND Gateway on behalf of N-ABLES. The article conveys the issues faced by children and young people with brain injuries and we hope this will encourage SENCos, teachers and teaching assistants to seek more information about ABI."
