The next meeting of UKABIF’s South West Acquired Brain Injury Forum will take place at the offices of Clarke Willmott Solicitors in Taunton.

The meeting will feature three talks, followed by refreshments and an opportunity to network with colleagues from across the acquired brain injury sector.

Update on the Acquired Brain Injury Action Plan

This session will outline the latest progress, priorities and developments relating to the Acquired Brain Injury Action Plan.

Flashpoints Between Property and Affairs Deputies and Case Managers

This session will examine the professional and structural differences that can create tension between property and affairs deputies and case managers.

Topics will include:

  • Different professional frameworks
  • Different accountability structures
  • Different approaches to risk
  • Different interpretations of “best interests”
  • Structural differences that can create tension
  • Common flashpoints in acquired brain injury cases
  • Why acquired brain injury can intensify these conflicts
  • Practical strategies to reduce conflict and improve collaboration

Tailored Online Problem-Solving (TOPS-UK) for Adolescents with Acquired Brain Injury

A pilot implementation study
