We are the leading UK charity providing information and support for people with brain injuries, their relatives, carers and professionals.
The Headway Acute Trauma Support (HATS) Nurse is an exciting new and innovative role. Providing emotional and practical support, information and advice to individuals and family members and carers of people in the early stages following an acquired brain injury. You will work collaboratively with the Multidisciplinary teams, across a variety of clinical settings; Critical Care, Neurosurgery, Clinics and Rehabilitation. You will also facilitate access to appropriate, ongoing support and services from other agencies.
Thanks to funding by the National Lottery through the Big Lottery Fund we are seeking an exceptional and dynamic individual to develop this new service at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital. As nurses, we rarely have enough time to adequately support families at crucial and distressing times – this role will give you that opportunity.
Experience of working within a neurosurgical or Critical Care setting and supporting families making difficult and life changing decisions is essential.
