Category: Regional Groups Meeting South East Acquired Brain Injury Forum (SEABIF) Meeting

September 28, 2017

Moore Blatch Gateway House
Tollgate
Chandlers Ford, SO53 3TG

SEABIF is the regional group of the United Kingdom Acquired Brain Injury Forum (UKABIF) which aims to promote better understanding of all aspects of ABI; to educate, inform and promote networking opportunities for professionals, service providers, planners and policymakers and to campaign for better services in the UK.

The meeting on Thursday 28th September is intended to stimulate a discussion amongst those around the South East involved in brain injury rehabilitation as to what we as a Forum want to achieve and, thereafter, what steps can be taken to achieve that objective.
We are able to confirm that Miranda Gardner who is a Head Injury Nurse Specialist based in
Hampshire has kindly agreed to open the discussion with a short account of her experience and aspirations.

We will also be joined by a representative from UKABIF who will provide an insight into the issues on a national level.

We would propose the following questions are relevant to the Forum although these are not intended to be exhaustive:

  •  What are the current issues for those with Acquired Brain Injury in the South East?
  • Is there a lack of integration for both physical and psychological services?
  • Is there a need for more “joined up thinking” and, if so, how can that be achieved
  • How can we improve patient outcomes?
  • What are the enabling issues
  • What would you like to see
  • What would you like to do
  • Are we able to identify what resources are available across the South East for support services?

Are there austerity issues in the South East?If you are able to join us then please e-mail us at SEABIF@mooreblatch.com as places are limited.
